NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON-CALL ELECTRIC UTILITY EXCAVATION AND ASSOCIATED WORK (Job No. 211-8095-7800010) (BS No. 5704) In accordance with the Municipal Code of the City of Redding, sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, CA 96001, until 3 p.m., June 18, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the performing of the work as follows: The Contractor shall provide on-call excavation, trenching, backfill, conduit installation, concrete work, asphalt concrete restoration, streetlight foundation installation, pull box installation, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and other related civil construction services at various locations throughout the Redding Electric Utility (“REU”) service territory. Work shall be performed on an as-needed basis and authorized through individual work orders issued by REU. Assignments may include both planned and emergency work and may occur at various locations throughout the REU service territory. The Contractor shall be capable of mobilizing and performing work under urgent conditions, including outside normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, as directed by the REU Representative. Engineer's Estimate is $1,823,482. Contractor shall possess a Class A license at the time bid is opened. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Each bid shall be made in accordance with the specifications and proposal requirements thereof. No bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least 10% of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the specifications.
